Here's a short video I made from this past winter of a BADASS snowboard trip my brother and I went on. I won a freakin' amazing contest from TGR, which was Arcteryx outerwear and Selkirk Wilderness Catskiing.

We started our trip in Manning Park un-touched pow and virtually no crowd, and then made our way up the POWDER Hwy to Red Resort. A good friend of mine from my high school, Jaime Mac who lives in Castlegar, offered to put us up for a few nights which turned into almost 2 weeks. Jaime was amped to have some Island boys over and share some gnar with us in the mountains.
Over the next week or so, our gracious host took Nick and I resort boarding, splitboarding at Mt Baldy, and snowshoeing up to the top of out-of-bounds Whitewater near Ymir Peak. The conditions were epic as was the weather. Jaime and his fiance (or wife as of now?) Lindsay showed us all the sights around Nelson, including the ultra relaxing mineral waters of Ainsworth, this tiny dot on the map along the Pow Hwy.
The time came for Nick and I to start our way up Hwy 31 to Meadow Creek, ground zero for the gnarlist snowboard trip to date. We stopped along Kootenay Lake to spend the night in our tent. We lucked out and had no neighbours to bother us plus a crisp, crystal clear night with a full moon to light up our fantastic view of the lake.
Upon reaching our ultimate destination, the friendliest staff I've ever met greeted us and so the gnar began. We were driven up to the cat, which then took us to Selkirk Wilderness' pimp lodge. That night they shot off a shit load of fireworks, which I like to think were for us... In the morning we ate a dank breakie and were off to the top for a day of top notch lines. The snow and weather were phenomenal. Our group consisted mostly of middle aged 2 plankers. This gave Nick and I more line options as they were not so aggressive nor frothing for heavy duty lines. This proceeded to be the trend for the rest of the cat trip. I could write forever about the lines we did. But I won't so just watch the short movie (6:55) I made below and you'll get the gist of our experience. And once again, sorry for mostly POV, we found it super hard and annoying to stop and pull out our other camera we brought along.
Enjoy

Great post - awesome adventure! Love the video Jesse!
